Counseling
You’ve helped me more in the last [2, 5, 7 etc] sessions than any therapist has helped me…and I’ve been in therapy for a long time”
-Words spoken by so many of my counseling clients
It is a gift to be told that clients feel so heard, so understood, so valued, and so cared for by me. While this feedback also fuels my desire to teach other therapists what I do (so that people don’t have to go through years of ineffective or even harmful therapy), it also means that you can anticipate that this experience will be different. At Nyck Walsh Counseling and Training Center, you will receive trauma-informed, somatic, anti-oppression, Neurodivergent affirming care.
I transcend the medical model that attempts to “treat” and “fix,” and I help my clients to experience their wholeness and innate value. I get that all humans, no matter how they are wired, have strengths and challenges. And I get that some of those challenges may never change or go away, so instead I help people to grieve as they need to and find acceptance. From there, we work together to find ways to soften the impact of those challenges on their everyday life.
We will look at what’s working, what’s not working, and find strategies and supports to help you design a more sustainable life that allows for your greatest freedom, pleasure, nourishment, and well-being.
Cuteness overload for your sensory delight!
We will work to dismantle the impacts of ideological, institutional, interpersonal and internalized oppression.

Counseling sessions are done with Nyck Walsh, MA, LPC, fellow Neurodivergent, Autistic, Highly Sensitive, Empathic human and Earth traveler. Together, we will co-create our 60 minute sessions. We will meet on zoom or over the telephone. I work with adults of all ages (age 18 and up). Pets often make an excellent addition to the therapy space and are welcome! Sessions are 60 minutes and $175. See below to learn about good faith estimates.
While I’m not in-network with any insurances, I am happy to provide you with a statement so that you can bill your out-of-network insurance benefit. Please reach out to schedule your free 25 minute phone or video consultation to explore if counseling with me is right for you.
The Details
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
